Orthodontic Treatment Checkups For Your Children

 In News

Parents are always concerned about their child’s health, including their dental health! Tooth pain can be unbearable at an early age, so they should follow the guidelines that their dentist suggests. Most dentists worldwide recommend that children should seek orthodontic care as early as age 6 or 7 years old.

Stages of Orthodontic Treatment Checkups

  • Early Treatment

Early care of teeth should start at an early age. Early interceptive treatment needs to be an area of focus and performed before all of the permanent teeth have erupted, often between the ages of 7 and 10. Initial evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and more significant opportunity for more effective treatment.

  • Teen Treatment

Teens should be focused on orthodontic treatment between the ages of 12 and 16 once most of their permanent teeth have erupted. Full orthodontic treatment procedure will position all the permanent teeth to maximize their appearance and function.

There are other problems commonly seen in children that benefit from orthodontic treatment. These include the early or late loss of baby teeth, persistent thumb sucking, tongue thrusting and mouth breathing.
